Basdban是一家位于上海愚园路的咖啡店。Basdban是一句四川方言-”巴适的板”的音译，指当前的状态让人觉得舒服，棒极了。咖啡店的主理人是一位很有个性，不按常规出牌的人。基于主理人的性格，我们决定做一套不按常规出牌的设计作为回应。这套设计的主要识别元素是一套定制化的西文字体。在设计初期林涛刻意尝试用左手写出26个英文字母，包括大小写和数字。用不擅长的左手写字更容易脱离规范，制约和束缚的笔触感，這也契合了Basdban的反叛精神和随性。与此同时，为了让Basdban这套字体更加有属于自己的品牌特性，字体部分融入了Basdban团队的手写笔触。

Basdban is a coffee shop in Shanghai. "Basdban" means “very nice” in the dialect of Chengdu. This design concept is based on the fun and
nonsensical meaning of the name "Basdban". A set of custom-made western fonts were used in the design, I created them by deliberately
writing with my left hand. I am a right-handed person, so I can easily get rid of control and norms to achieve a free and interesting effect.

Swiss Graphic @ China由华人设计师林涛创立，是一个非营利性组织，致力于通过系列采访、出版和展览进行瑞士平面设计在中国的推广。希望通过一系列的采访、出版和展览，基于瑞士平面设计的过去与现在的发展在中国创造一个更好的交流平台。希望这样一个平台的诞生将能够促进两国之间更多的专业交流和创意探索。

Swiss Graphic @ China is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of prestigious Swiss graphic design in China. Through a series of interviews, publications, and exhibitions, we are aiming to create a better communication platform for the past and present development of Swiss graphic design among designers, students, and design enthusiasts in China. The birth of such a platform will be able to foster more professional communication and creative exploration between the two countries.
The founder of Swiss Graphic @ China is Tao LIN, an Austrian-Chinese graphic designer based between China and Europe. He also studied in Switzerland at Zurich University of the Arts.

OUTCiRCS整体的视觉形象TaoGraphicDesign设计事务所历时一年打造。为了更准确的传递OUTCiRCS的品牌理念，设计团队更是为其定制了一套专属字体：Accidental Grotesk
从诞生于1898年柏林的“Akzidenz-Grotesk”字体中获得灵感。德语中的“Grotesk”意为奇形怪状，作为世界上最早期的无衬线字体，字母去掉了装饰性的笔触，这给人一种简洁且包容的状态。

2022年的今天，设计团队将这款曾经象征了反叛意义的字体“破坏”、重组，再次赋予它打破一切条条框框的寓意。也是我们期待看到OUTCiRCS呈现并传递的状态，真实、活力、反叛、包容、热爱自由，并不同寻常。与服饰设计精神一以贯之的，是OutCircs在包装上对“可持续”的坚持。环保牛皮卡纸，可降解雪梨纸，极简主义信封与吊牌……由一根十字皮筋捆起，可能是你手中最大号的“帕尼尼”。

The overall visual identity of OUTCiRCS was created by TaoGraphicDesign over the course of a year. In order to more accurately convey the OUTCiRCS brand concept, the design team created an exclusive typeface: Accidental Grotesk.
Inspired by the "Akzidenz-Grotesk" typeface, created in Berlin in 1898. The German word 'Grotesk' means oddly shaped and, as one of the world's first sans serifs, the letters were stripped of their decorative strokes to give them a state of simplicity and inclusion.

Today, in 2022, the design team has taken a typeface that once symbolised rebellion and restructured it, giving it a new feel that breaks all the rules and regulations. This is the state we expect to see OUTCiRCS present and convey: authentic, dynamic, rebellious, inclusive, freedom-loving and unusual.

In keeping with the spirit of the garment design, OUTCircs packaging is sustainable. Eco-friendly kraft paper, biodegradable sorbet paper, minimalist envelopes and hang tags ...... , tied together by a crossed leather cord, this is probably the biggest 'panini' you'll ever hold.

在我们最初构思时，我们开始思考，情绪和这本日历之间的关系，他们之间的火花，羁绊应该是什么样的。

我们决定尝试强调情绪记录的行为，并且为每一个拥有这本手帐日历的人提供为期一年情绪的宣泄处。我们塑造了一件空白的时间载体。希望能够与使用者一起，在接下去的一年共同完成这件情绪雕塑。 

When we first conceived the idea, we began to think about the relationship between emotions and this calendar, the spark between them, what the bond should look like.
Emotion is one of the sources of motivation and is a fundamental part of the motivational system. It motivates and increases the effectiveness of human activity. Moderate emotional arousal puts the mind and body in an optimal state of activity and motivates people to complete tasks effectively. We consider good emotional guidance and recording to be a moving and artistic act. As a functional object that people use to record the passage of time, the calendar has long since broken the functional boundaries of time recording, just as people think - "glad this day has passed", "getting closer to a certain day", "resigned to the passage of time", "resigned to the passage of time" - in other words, this thin piece of paper has become a symbol of emotion, and Tong Kun believes that the paper, the printing and the process will give the viewer the ultimate visual and tactile experience.
We decided to try to emphasise the act of recording emotions and offer a year-long emotional catharsis to everyone who owns this handwritten calendar. We have created a blank space in time. Together with our users, we hope to complete this emotional sculpture over the coming year.

INNERCO's entry point is a retro mechanical device: the page-turning display. Invented in the 1950s and popularised in the West from the 1970s to the 1990s, page-turning displays were widely used in public spaces such as airports, stations and exchanges to present different textual information through the arrangement of numbers, letters or symbols displayed in a cell.TAO GRAPHIC DESIGN (LTD.) has brought such a retro installation back to INNERCO as a response to response to the central proposition of reconstructing urban traditions - "the combination of tradition and the present, and the reactivation of space". The installation is also a response to the central proposition of rebuilding urban traditions - "the union of tradition and the present, and the reactivation of space". At the same time, SPLIT-FLAP DISPLAY is a microcosm of INNERCO's operations, linking the different spiritual cores brought by the different brands and managers.

 “Tokyo TDC Awards,” an international design competition, and the “TDC Exhibition,” a showcase of the winners of this competition, as well as issue the design annual book. We will also continue our “Kibojuku” design school which we have hold in Tokyo. We plan to introduce several new study groups so that we can engage in design-related activities that benefit the greater society. Besides, we hope to develop our relationship with overseas designers further through our “Tokyo TDC Awards” design competition, the exhibition and publishing activities. As a newly recognized NPO, Tokyo TDC will be reaching out to increase the breadth of overseas membership, which has been of one of our long-term visions. Our new articles of organization include a definition of the “overseas member” status. An overseas member is relieved of the obligation to attend NPO general meetings and does not have a vote in organization issues.

“现所X创邑”是一家位于上海长宁区即将开业，定位于街头与潮流文化的新型商场。 怎样让商场装修期间外立面围板上无趣的招商引资广告牌变成一种符合该商场定位的潮流文化视觉形象是这次创作的挑战。 设计灵感源于街头涂鸦。将涂鸦的混乱，自由，叛逆，狂野的视觉特征转换为字体排印，将生硬无趣的招商信息及业态描述文案作为创作素材，为了填补信息的不足，还融入了上海当地气候的描述文字，最终设计呈现出一张高10米长200米的巨幅涂鸦式的字体排印海报。 

This is a shopping mall based in Shanghai, positioned in street culture, with trendy and avant-garde intentions. Several sets of posters were designed to promote the idea. During the building of the mall, these posters will be printed in large sizes of 10 meters high and 200 meters wide and hung on the front of the building.

Qiao 定制化字体Logo保持现有竖向排版方式，让品牌具有前卫及张力的调性 。 感叹号”!”作为图形Icon使用，可在视觉 呈现方面与”Qiao!”作为互补及动态切换 。黑色边框与圆形头像形成更有dy- namic的对比。

The Qiao customised typeface logo maintains the existing vertical typography, giving the brand an edgy and intense tone. Exclamation mark "!" is used as a graphic Icon to complement and dynamically switch between the visual presentation and the "Qiao! The black border creates a more dy- namic contrast with the circular avatar.

Tao LIN is an Austrian-Chinese graphic designer based between China and Europe. He studied in Switzerland and later in 2014, he received his master’s degree in visual communication from ZHdK (Zurich University of the Arts). With a rigorous conceptual and typographic approach, his practice ranges from editorial design to visual identity, packaging and websites etc. His works received several national and international design awards. Other than design work, he is also active in the art education industry under the name Class Tao. His Students received offers from top ranked Universities such as Yale, RISD, Cranbrook, RCA (London) etc.
